A really nice to have feature rolled out in the recent update. The Project Manager sometimes need to make an announcement to the project members, this feature helps to do so. Under the project dashboard tab, the manager can post an announcement and every other member in the project can see the announcement on the top of "What am i working on right now.. ?" text box.

Each tab in your project is unique. You can open each project tabs like dashboard, timesheet, documents, tasks & milestones in a separate browser tabs and also can bookmark them.

you can go to a particular project tab straight away (by bookmarking) instead of hopping from one page to another.

Navigation from one project tab to another is lot smoother with the help of back & forward buttons of the browser.

Zoho Projects has integrated chat feature where the users can collaborate in a chat room under each project i.e chat tab. In addition to that project users can also do a one-to-one chat with other project users by clicking on the user photo in the Project Dashboard.

In Project Dashboard, users are displayed with photo and online status. If their names displayed in green then the user is online else offline

You can start one to one chat with the user by clicking on the photo

You can minimize one chat box and continue with the other. If any message is received in the minimized chat box then the chat topic at chat bar at bottom will blink and gets highlighted

You can start the one to one by also clicking on the photo next to each forum posts under Forums tab

You can also start the one to one chat by clicking on the photo of the user under Users tab. Under Users tab, on the left hand side, only currently online users will be listed. Click on the user link to start the one to one chat.

In Zoho Projects 2.0, users can change their layout. Basically UI has menu panel and content panel. In 1.0 the menu panel will always be in the left hand side and user cannot change the layout.

In 2.0 we have provided the functionality of changing the layout i.e. changing the menu panel and content panel from left to right and vice versa. Click "Settings" tab and click "Change Layout" option to change the layout.

After a long break (busy in releasing ZP 2.0), we have planned to post about features, enhancements done in New Zoho Projects 2.0.

In Zoho Projects 2.0, new report has been added, the "User Task Summary Report. The report provides the details of open tasks and closed tasks count for all the users in a particular project.
